Friday Fill - Ins

We are so enjoying our company but I actually have time to do a quick post - in between cocktails & getting ready for the Greenriver Festival.

1. Sandwich and chips make a quick dinner.
2. Girls in Trucks is the book I'm reading right now.
3. July brings back memories of sleeping outside growing up.
4. That I wouldn't live in Montana was obvious.
5. They say if you tell your dreams to yourself, they are sending you a message.
6. I'm not real good at slowing down to think it over.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to chilling with my friends, tomorrow my plans include hanging out at the Greenriver Festival and on Sunday we'll be sleeping in!

We are drinking Moscow Mules tonight so no new cocktail - cheers anyway!

Ten Favorite Songs of the 80's

Ten on Tuesday is sort of fun this week. I love music and although I cringe now when I look at some of my albums (yes I still have albums) I do remember the good times I had listening to some of this stuff. I'm expanding it to favorite groups instead of just songs - less of a brain drain with my second cup of coffee. At the risk of being late for work ( damn you You Tube!) I'll start my post!
In no particular order....

1. Journey - I still think Steve Parry had an amazing voice.
2. Cheap Trick - Live at Budakon - who doesn't love it?
3. The Cars - until they got big & famous - I really thought I was cutting edge here. Did I mention I grew up in Montana?
4. The Police - loved Message in the Bottle.
5. Styx - I fought hard for our junior prom theme to be The Best of Times but you know what, Lee Ann you were right - it should have been The Tide is High.
6. Ratt - I loved those big hair boys.
7. Bon Jovi - now too mainstream - Ok he was then too but I still thought I was cool when I liked him.
8. AC/DC - the Bon Scott version.
9. Def Leppard - again the early stuff.
10. REO Speedwagon - the Montana thing.

If I had more time - I could post a bazillion more. Enjoy the videos & trip down memory lane - so what are your favorites??

Friday Fill - Ins, Saturday morning addition and It's Cocktail Time!

This is getting to be a weekly habit. But since I only have about 3 people who read this blog (but ya'll have been here 1,700 times per my site counter) and two of you are coming to dinner tonight - I think I'll be forgiven.

And...here we go!

1. The last thing I ate was a Pay Day Candy bar for lunch and peanut butter and homemade strawberry jam sandwich for breakfast.

2. A chandelier for the house we haven't even started to build yet is something I recently bought.

3. When it rains, it must be Connecticut because we have gotten a shit load of rain this summer.

4. Hubby was the first person I spoke to this morning.

5. Hugs are fun to give to Training Buddy because she hates them.

6. I'd love a Scarlett O'hara - extra Southern comfort, please.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to dinner at the Yacht Club (didn't happen so I am pretending on this part - I got stuck in traffic and didn't make it) and Saturday I'll be cleaning and painting and on Sunday, sleeping in and more cleaning & painting .

I'm going easy on the cocktail - but it's a good one. Kevin - I may use yours next week if you read this blog). When I'm done with this post - I will be having a Moscow Mule - preferably drank out of a copper mug which of course I own.

Moscow Mule

2 oz vodka
lime juice

ginger beer

Pour the vodka into an ice filled copper mug or collins glass. Fill to the top with ginger beer and add a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Cheers!

Ten on Tuesday - Wednesday edition

I have been getting ready for company (can't wait Nico's Mom & Miss Lillie B!) and although they are not coming to visit until next week, Hubby & I have decided we need to do some painting inside. All well & good except I can't find the paint chips for color and have been on a week long Easter egg hunt. Sigh..... But it is not the end of the world and I have made many exciting discoveries along the way, link a pile of Christmas cards from 2007 - I was wondering where those went!

Ok - jumping away from that heart stopping topic and on to Ten Things that Turn you Off About People. Sort of a negative topic but I'll try to keep it light hearted..

1. Being late for meetings - annoying!

2. Hubby wearing shoes in the house - tracks in all sorts of mud and I have nagged him about it a bazillion times.

3. Lying - about anything, really just tell me the truth - I can take it.

4. Driving slow in the fast lane - I have places to go - get out of my way : - )

5. Being rude to wait staff - I used to waitress & bar tend - these people work hard!

6. Inattentive wait staff - don't stand there and BS with your co-workers when I am ready to order - I'm a good tipper!

7. A drunk person when I'm sober.

8. A sober person when I've been drinking.

9. Militant TSA staff at the airport - most are very nice.

10. People who are intolerant of others just because they are different.

Now - a random vacation shot since I will never get through all 200 and really, how long do you really want to hear about my vacation?

Valparaiso, Chile. This city was soooo cool! I definitely want to go back. I'll post more about it later as I must get to work.
